OIL HIKE AND FINNEGANS AGAIN
By Karthik | June 5, 2008
Sorry for boring you again. But I have the urge to let it out. No statistics this time…
Well, there are many, if not all, Malaysian bloggers out there who are unhappy with the fuel price hike. I mean, come on, who wouldn’t be? In fact, they’re disappointed, frustrated, and angry. Then, there’s the protests that are lined up in order for the government to get a taste of the Malaysian public’s emotions.
It is definitely another very good reason why you should not have extended support for them during General Election. But as much as I talk on politics, which is very minimal at the least, I hate politics. That’s why I posted previously about why I didn’t want to bore you much with information regarding the politics too much. No, this is not a political blog. And it will never be, because this is a place where I dump my rants and whatnot.
So welcome to my paradise.
The latest news was “Organisers Coalition Against Inflation (Protes) hopes to gather 100,000 people to call on the government to reduce fuel prices to its original levels before the hike today.”Source. But that is perhaps only the beginning. There may be more extreme feedback of the public, and I bet the government expected this. The government has raised the fuel prices previously and got somewhat similar response from the public. Sooner or later, the public became helpless and they gave in. Apathy is the word. APATHY.
Well, what they fail to understand is the very fact that the Malaysian public have evolved tremendously. We are now more concerned about voicing our thoughts and living our rights than ever before, and this is ridiculous for the government to do. I love Malaysian on all aspects, because it is indeed the best place to live. I have travelled and stayed on countries that are beautiful with the best weather. But that’s all they remain, because to me Malaysia was almost perfect. I liked everything about it, except for the political agendas. Which also breeds a little on racism. Now, that spoils most of it, doesn’t it?
But let me move on.
The rallies are going to occur. Again, they may not be approved as usual, and I would be surprised if they actually let this one pass. God, who I am kidding?
And in addition to that, I just realized that my previous entry by a guest poster, on Finnegans were extensively viewed by, well, I could say the staff of Finnegans? And I hoped that if they actually had the initiative to view and spread the word (I’ll tell you why I assume such), then I actually expect them to write in the comment perhaps defending themselves or stating another perspective or rather, just, an humble apology and to say that the staff was sacked.
A follow up on the Finegans incident is this: According to the manager of Finnegans, the staff have been sacked. The previous entry clearly said that the whole management is to be blamed to have no proper recruiting or whatsoever. But that’s the image any Food and Beverage outlet would receive. If you want to go to a Finnegans pub, you may do so. But makesure you don’t complain even if they give you water instead of sprite, because you may never know what you might get out of it. A slap maybe? Damn..what is this world coming into? Or rather, this country…
And yes, how did I know? I got it from my Analytics. Here’s a print screen:

Spreading the word among themselves. What has happened ever since? I wonder… The story of a waiter, lol…
So, back to the fuel story. Please, do take your time and visit the following blogs:
