10,000BC

By Karthik | March 24, 2008

I know it’s a little late for a review, now that many of you would have certainly watched it. But for those who haven’t got a taste of what 10,000 BC is all about, then drop what the critics have been advocating so far, and just go experience it yourself.

The reviews for 10,000 BC has been, bad.

I never trusted reviews, somehow or the other, they are just plain crap to me. Maybe those reviews were written by individuals with poor taste of how movies should really be like.

10,000 BC is a good movie. The story was simple and neat, with elements of funny twisted and blended into it. What do you expect? People from 10,000BC definitely had to have some sense of humor, shouldn’t they? After all, it has survived into the present day human beings, and following the theory of evolutionary, a great sense of humor is after all, adaptive :p Now, that’s a perspective!

Camilla Bale: the hot chick element to the movie. Not much of a character :p

The trailer and marketing was good for 10,000 BC. I trusted them more than the reviews. The chick was hot, I trusted her. The directors and producers had a great past, with movies like Independence Day and the Day after Tomorrow. I obviously trusted them. And guess what? It might not have been the greatest movie ever, but it was definitely an interesting movie with a rather simply plot. The one.

So, stop reading those reviews the demotivates you to watch this movie. Stop preventing yourself from going to the cinemas, because it’s only in the cinemas you get a close-to-perfect blend of sound and video quality. Close to, only.

The only review that could sum up this movie,  “Even though there’s never a hint of either research or gritty realism, it’s still good fun.” by Rich Cline @ Rottentomatoes.com

My rating: a solid 3.5/5

And as for lack of updates, I’m really sorry about that. Assignments, Exams, Presentation and Work are not the easiest thing to handle. But maybe, the amount of importance I reserve for blogging has reduced tremendously and that would explain why the blog lacks the update. I would definitely make a comeback, most probably after the end of my semester, as it is, this semester is taking me on a truly crazy ride. Nevertheless, the passion to write, and metaphorically pen down my thoughts are definitely there and is not fading anytime soon.
