Content comes first, promotion second!
By Karthik | January 17, 2008
This title does not belong to me. So I am crediting it to the original writer, Ben Barden!
I have always had this in my mind, and have always advocated for it! In the blogosphere, what truly matters is the content! (duh!). I know you already knew that, but sometimes, we fail to remember the tiniest detail in the blogosphere.
Look at how this blogosphere has evolved. People now have the advantage of voicing out their opinions/thoughts/activities through this awesome media. Then, along came the time where bloggers could start monetizing their blog. Slowly, and slowly, people ditched the importance of contents and started paying attention on money, and money alone. To date, many money bloggers have been over-rated, because all they do is to tell you right good content, and monetize your blog. Oh, of course, they don’t say it like it’s so basic. They sugar-coat it with all kinds of words to make sure you keep coming back for more.
It’s no point advertising a site that has got no content! That’s the point Ben Barden made, only I took it a little personal to show you how it reflects. I want you, and all of you, to succeed while you blog. Making money through blogging is not a scam, it is an absolute truth. People out there do not just sit down in front of their PC every single day, writing articles so that no one succeeds. No. That’s not how it works. They share with you what they know, but slowly, when they hit it big, they let the newbie’s alone. Making it look like we have to compete with them, to make it to where they are. But, that’s not it!
You don’t have to compete with them! It’s all about you. If you think you could write good contents, and unique ones at that, I’m sure everyone would agree that you could make it big just like them. I choose to only advocate the values that are being forgotten in the midst of the advertisers buzz and popularity of various sponsored reviews. Along that, I choose to share with you the little of what I know about making money through blogging, in an absolute practical way.
Got good contents? Then, go ahead and make your thousands of dollars!
Note: It all comes down to hard work. Who said this was a get rich quick scheme?

jus finish read ur article..i believe wif wat u said..good content is the main priority but some times really lack of idea on content..haha
imDavidLee: Lack-Of-Idea is an infamous syndrome when it comes to blogging. There is one way to actually get the inspiration to write, and that is by reading other blog’s of the same interest!

Well said sir. I’m tired of these crappy blogs with ads everywhere and “content” used only to trick Adsense into generating high paying ads.

A happy reader will never mind ads being placed on the page. Always please your readers first i guess….
danny: One way to do that, is by delivering audience-centered content, so that your audience or readers understand the very essence of what you want to share. Sharing your thoughts is what blogging is about, isn’t it? =)
