FOCUS on ONE site/blog!

By Karthik | January 15, 2008

It is important to focus on just one blog or site. Especially if you are a man, because research says men ‘corpus collasum’ is shorter than the women’s. In other words, women are biologically capable of multi-tasking, whereas men are not as good as women when it comes to multi-tasking. (So, next time, when your male partner refuses to text you because he is out with his colleagues or clients or friends, don’t get mad, we’re just not biologically equipped! Haha..)*

“They have the ultimate biological multitasking operating system known to man. Don’t get your Calvins in a bunch. Science supports this with studies that show that the female corpus callosum can process multiple tasks better than a male counterpart. This corpus callosum is the portion of the brain that connects the right side to the left side.”

But that doesn’t leave the women apart. As much as you could, focus on one first blog, before you move on to many. See, successful people do not create 10 web blogs or sites at one go, it takes them time before they actually implement another site. The problem is, if you are a full-time blogger or web developer, than it’s a different case altogether. But if you have a part time work, and a life to take care of, don’t tell me you are going to sit down writing 10 to 15 articles a day to cater for all your sites/blogs? It’s not logical, but more than that, it is not wise at all!

Maybe you can. Of course, nothing is impossible, right? But, just think of it this way, do you think there are going to be any quality at all in your writing? Isn’t quality the most important factor? What’s the point of having 20 to 15 articles per week, when most of it are, well, useless?

It’s better to have a single focus. Once you have begun your journey, and have understood the fundamentals of blogging and search engine optimization, then you are good to go! 5xmom.com have done it, with more than 10 sites, she’s still able to cater the needs of ordinary readers. But then again, she’s been in it for some time now, and we are nowhere to be compared to her. So, take it slow, for now, focus on one, before you launch a whole new entire project. Give it time, give it space… let it evolve!

I’m saying this through experience, because I have been there, done that. But that’s pretty much what life is about. It’s about learning, and sharing. So, there you go!

And if your blog is new, I know how intimidating some bloggers can be towards new bloggers. So, take a second, and read my post here.

* Oh, by the way, if you were curious about the link between corpus collasum and multi tasking, don’t worry. I’m not trying to intimidate you by having scientific terms; it’s simply what I learn in my psychology classes. Click here for a brief explanation on it if you opt to clear your mind on this.
